Hiking

My fiancée, outside of her primary profession, holds several world records for hiking long distances on some of the world’s most popular and premier routes (e.g., across entire countries, up to 2,300 miles) in the fastest known time. She’s also run a bunch of 100K and 50K races and has run 100+ miles in 24 hours. I am nowhere remotely close to her ability! But, I love going as quickly as I can, and I’ve hiked in perhaps ~20 countries. Some of my favorite trails, for various reasons, include:

  • Fimmvörðuháls (Iceland)

  • Mt. Rinjani (Lombok, Indonesia)

  • Kijimadaira Village and Trail (Mt.Kosha, Japan)

  • (Sri Lanka)

  • Luang Prabang to ____ (Northern Laos)

  • Oku-Shanano, (Northern Nagano, Japan)

  • Alta Via 2 (Dolomites, Italy)

  • Norway (with Brian in A or wherever)

  • Norway beach hike

  • Kalaw to Inle Lake (Myanmar)

  • Cebu, Philippines

  • Presidential Traverse Day-Hike (New Hampshire, USA)

  • Franconia Ridge (New Hampshire, USA)

  • Kalalau Trail (aka Na Pali Coast) (Hawaii, USA)
